Overview of Brake Services

Your braking system is not simple; there is a range of different services that do need to be done to keep your brakes in good working order. The first brake service you might have done is an inspection. Inspecting your brakes is often the first step to make sure that your brake is going to work when you need them to. Brake inspection is checking brake lines, checking the thickness of your brake pads (front or rear), and making sure that the entire braking system is in good working order.

When your brake pads get to a certain thickness they are not going to be effective anymore and the calipers are going to instead clamp down directly on the rotors. When this happens it can cause damage to the rotors and can make it necessary to change your rotors. With resurfacing your rotors, this often involves cleaning off the surface and removing any build-up that might have been deposited there by the brake pads.
